九尾狐王画鸳在大战中被云尘子封印在石碑中。一百年后的兰陵城，善良纯真的少女灵云一心等着恋人提亲，却等来父亲的出卖和恋人的抛弃。巨大的怨念之下，灵云的血气撕裂了封印。释放而出的画鸳附身于灵云的身上，带着其他八只狐妖建立了“东女城”。画鸳为彻底摆脱灵云的躯壳，盯上了书生许温良的七窍玲珑心。为让其自愿献心，画鸳和她的狐妖们为许温良设下重重陷阱。与此同时，镇妖司弟子叶青羽、周冲也一同进入了东女城，参与了这场混战……许温良经历狐妖百般诱惑而不动摇，却与真实善良的灵云相爱。最终，许温良为了拯救灵云、打败狐妖，不惜献出了生命。
