瓊（安迪·加西亞 Andy Garcia 飾）是一名經(jīng)驗(yàn)豐富的警探，從洛杉磯被調(diào)往位于加州的一座小鎮(zhèn)中執(zhí)勤。小鎮(zhèn)里發(fā)生了聳人聽(tīng)聞的分尸殺人案，瓊和搭檔格斯（蘭斯·亨利克森 Lance Henriksen 飾）成為了案件的負(fù)責(zé)人。在調(diào)查案件的過(guò)程中，瓊發(fā)現(xiàn)這并不是一宗單純的謀殺案，之前還有數(shù)起未偵破的案件，兇手很可能和此次案件是同一個(gè)人?！ 「鶕?jù)搜索到的線索，瓊查明了被害人的身份是一位名叫安柏盲女，于是，他和搭檔來(lái)到了安柏所就讀的盲人學(xué)校中。根據(jù)失明女教師海倫娜（烏瑪·瑟曼 Uma Thurman 飾）的描述，竟然將懷疑的目標(biāo)漸漸引向了瓊的身上，令他成為了最大嫌疑人，與此同時(shí)，格斯也在執(zhí)行任務(wù)時(shí)不幸喪命。
