在革命烈士紀念碑前，抗戰(zhàn)老兵王二回憶起了自己曾經(jīng)的前輩、導師及戰(zhàn)友。在那個戰(zhàn)火紛飛的年代，侵華日軍的鐵蹄踏到了王二所在的村子里。十五六歲的王二膽小懦弱，無依無靠的他在炮火中無所適從，直到一個八路軍的班解救了他。就此他結(jié)識了有勇有謀的班長趙真，機靈的偵查員張鵬，大大咧咧的警衛(wèi)員孫大嘴，謹慎的劉貴，沉著的狙擊手周大寶，善良的衛(wèi)生員葉琳，以及因厭惡侵略戰(zhàn)爭而投靠八路軍的原日軍成員小林健次郎。趙真所在的班因解救王二而與大部隊失散，他們一行人帶著王二，在日軍的封鎖區(qū)艱難的尋找著大部隊。在戰(zhàn)火的洗禮中，他們每個人都面臨著突破自我的考驗……
