故事发生在一个虚构的小镇上，锅巴是小镇头号大佬黎叔底下的一个小伙计，工作积极热情，有干劲，有想法，一直备受大佬黎叔欣赏。锅巴钟情于小镇的头号女神白飘飘，但白飘飘却一直对锅巴没有感觉，为此锅巴想过很多方法。黎叔决定拍一部爱情片。锅巴的上级八条决定将男主角的机会给锅巴，但锅巴对本职工作以外的事情提不起半点兴趣，于是锅巴的好友黑背因为长相帅气成为男主角，同时锅巴也得到了一个制片主任的职位。他这才了解到公司拍电影的目的实际上是为了讨好本镇的地产大佬白先德，所以让白先德女儿当女一号，而且女一号正是锅巴的梦中情人，白飘飘。锅巴十分懊恼和后悔，只能看着黑背和白飘飘在戏里卿卿我我，自己只能独自伤神……
